life is beautiful, part 2.

I found the arc of my life in this gigantic pile of books.

life is beautiful.

I went to this exhibit last Saturday, which is on Sunset just across the street from everybody's favorite Gower Gulch. It's a huge installation and lots of fun in a pop culture, kitschy kind of way. These were my favorites--piles of records and books.

two rainbows in one day.

I took these pictures.

With my new Nikon Coolpix camera. My dad gave it to me. Both my parents have given me cameras in the past month--can you believe it? The Coolpix--or as my niece Elizabeth calls it "the Ashton Kutcher camera"--takes the most amazing pics. Do I sound like Ashton Kutcher? I know these look like cheesy stock photos--but I took them! I've finally got all my photos downloaded from my trip to Georgia, so I'll be getting those up now. Sorry for the delay, family.

saturday.

I love the Department of Water and Power buildings in L.A. They remind me of Chinatown. This is the one in Toluca Lake.

heaven cam.

Just playing around with the new camera. Treiops saw the last shot and coined it the "heaven cam." Treiops is mostly weird, but sometimes he is extremely awesome.

thanks mom.

Guess what I got in the mail today? A new Polaroid camera! Thanks mom. Once again, right before I'm about to hit that button on ebay, a Polaroid just manifests itself in my life. It's uncanny. We'll see how it goes with this one. I'm NOT going to drop it either--it has a neck strap. So I took the film for the Polaroid I broke and put it in this new camera (which of course isn't new--it was sitting in our basement for about 20 years) and took my first picture of my favorite oleander tree. I love taking Polaroids when the film is slightly exposed--it's like entering a whole new world.

atlanta.

This is the first--and last--Polaroid I took on my first day in Georgia. Because I broke the damn camera. Crap. But my dad bought me a new camera but not a Polaroid. It's the brand new Nikon Coolpix camera which completely rocked my world on my trip. You'll see why when I post the photos. In the meantime, I plan to buy a new Polaroid camera. I don't care if they are discontinuing the film--they are just too much fun. And I really want to take one with me to Europe.
